Submission Week is April 2nd-6th. Drop off your 2-D or 3-D artwork at the 2nd floor desk from 1-5 pm all week long.
Anyone (Kindergarten-Adult) can submit work to the Cornerstone Art Show, which will be held on Wednesday, April 18th, from 5-8 pm.
Six local artists will be featured at the show with their own exhibits: Julie Beck, Jasen Combs, April ElNaggar, Karen Karki, Danielle Linehan, and Lynette K. Waters-Whitesell. These artists will form the jury and decide who receives prizes in the following categories: K-5th Grade, 6th-8th Grade, 9th-12th Grade, and Adult. Admission to this event is free!
On account of February's snow cancellations, the Cornerstone Celebration date has changed! The Celebration will now be held on Sunday, April 29th.
3-4 pm: All performing arts classes will be featured in a showcase in the Auditorium, including Dance, Drama, Martial Arts, and Musical performances. 4-5 pm: Work from all visual arts classes will be on display in a Gallery Exhibit in the Great Room. Plus, there will be crafts, games, activities, demonstrations, refreshments, and open registration for the Summer Session (June 11 - July 26). 5-6 pm: There will be a Private Lessons Recital in the Auditorium. This is a free event and open to the public. Come and learn more about all the exciting classes at Cornerstone!
Cornerstone is partnering with the Muncie Public Library to promote The Big Read, a community-wide celebration of Harper Lee's classic To Kill a Mockingbird. Students in grades 6-9 can participate in an engaging writing workshop on Monday, April 30th, from 4:30-6 pm here at Cornerstone. It is completely free! Cornerstone Center for the Arts has completed its second year with its new name! In these past two years, we have been able to provide opportunities for creative expression, artistic development, and special events in our beautiful, historic building.
