If you ever want to know what Cornerstone's students have been up to, simply attend an end of semester Celebration! Each Celebration is an open house that showcases all of the Cornerstone Arts Program classes in the form of performances, galleries, multimedia, and a recital. On Sunday, April 29th, the classes that performed were Beginning Ballet, Ballet I, Youth Hip Hop, Beginning & Intermediate Hip Hop, and Studio for Youth. A slideshow presentation featured all of the Martial Arts classes, while a series of videos highlighted the youngest children's classes, Beginning Piano, Kindermusik, and Creative Movement.Featured in the Visual Arts Gallery were Drawing, Painting, Scrapbooking, Youth Art, Jewelry Making, Adult Ceramics, and Youth Ceramics. In a private recital that evening, students who have been taking lessons in piano, voice, saxophone, violin, viola, and American Sign Language all performed some of what they had learned for their teachers, family, and friends. People who attended the Celebration were able to create collages and paper caterpillars, play with a variety of instruments in a Percussion Petting Zoo, register for summer classes, enjoy refreshments, and speak with numerous teachers about upcoming summer classes. The Summer Celebration is scheduled for July 29th, and will have an outdoor block party atmosphere.

![]() During the day, students from Blue River Valley High School came to Cornerstone on a field trip. They participated in various arts-related workshops and were featured in The Star Press. On the evening of the Art Show, hundreds of people were in attendance to view the exhibit and see who had won the various prizes. The overall winner was Emily Leiserson's "Sandy Streets," a handmade book. Emily has since signed on to become a teaching artist at Cornerstone and will be offering classes in Bookmaking and Printmaking this summer! All other winners are listed on the Cornerstone website. Thank you to all of the sponsors, featured artists, and participating artists for your support of this event! |
