Governor's Arts Awards 2009

The city of Muncie has been chosen to host the 2009 Governor’s Arts Awards and Cornerstone will be the site of the banquet and ceremony!

The 2009 Awards is the second year that the event has been hosted outside of Indianapolis and the first year that a city has been selected in a competitive process. Muncie beat out Rising Sun and Lafayette to be chosen as the coming year’s site for the event. The organizers have decided that Muncie is the perfect city to begin their mission of spotlighting the arts in all areas of the state of Indiana.

The Governor’s Arts Awards will be a wonderful opportunity to not only showcase Cornerstone, but the vibrant arts community of Muncie. Plans are already in the works to coordinate multiple arts related activities in Muncie. A variety of activities, demonstrations and shows are planned not only for the day of the awards, but for the entire weekend in an effort to attract arts enthusiasts from across the state.

We are proud to host this event and even more excited to show the state of Indiana all the wonderful arts related activities that Muncie and Cornerstone have to offer!
